The college’s sporting facilities include a beach volleyball court, a grassed quadrangle (for casual afternoon sports) and a gymnasium. University sporting facilities are available to students and within easy walking distance (many facilities are literally across the road from the College). Several well-maintained sporting ovals exist for sports like rugby, soccer, cricket and hockey. Other nearby facilities include tennis, basketball and netball courts, a swimming pool, squash courts, and a state-of-the-art university gymnasium.

Sport is a large part of college life. The intercollege sports competition – The Fisher Shield – is keenly contested by six colleges on campus. Ten sports are played across men’s and women’s divisions. Participation and spectatorship are encouraged. Flynn is extremely proud of its community spirit during such occasions. In 2015 the College enjoyed winning Women’s Swimming, Women’s Water Polo and Men’s Basketball. The men’s team also reached grand finals in Cricket and Netball.

The University Student Association organises social and inter-college sports’ competitions. The ten college sports contested during the year are: Swimming, Water Polo, Cross Country, Netball, Basketball, Rugby Union, Touch Football, Soccer, Cricket and Beach Volleyball. A range of social sports are also popular with Flynn residents during the academic year.
